Recently, CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) laminates with thin-ply materials have been reported to suppress crack and delamination of the laminate under fatigue loading. The purpose of this study is to investigate the fatigue propagation properties of delamination in thin-ply CFRP laminates by analyzing the phenomena at the onset of delamination on a microscopic scale. High cycle fatigue analyses were performed for Mode I and Mode II deformation modes to confirm the propagation behavior of delamination. In addition, Mode-II fatigue tests on small-scale specimens using thin-ply materials will be conducted and compared with the numerical results.
